Mirror vs extend

Devices can either mirror or extend to a projector/TV. Mirror means that you will see the exact same image on the projector/TV as you see on the device's screen. Extend means that the projector/TV is treated as additional screen space, and you can drag windows across to it.

There are benefits and drawbacks to each, but it is important to know how to choose between them on the device you regularly use.
